Sensor status: Active, Inactive and Archived

The ViGIE platform has three possible statuses for a sensor: Active, Inactive or Archived.

Active Sensor

In this status, sensors record values for the parameters they are monitoring and generate alarms and alerts if they are configured.

The active status implies that the equipment/spaces that the sensors are monitoring are in operation and need to be monitored. Alarms, communication failure alerts, battery level alerts and calibration alerts are generated and sent if they are properly configured.

Inactive Sensor

The inactive state integrates some possible scenarios for the sensor as Configuration, Maintenance, or sensor Out of Service. This status implies that, for any of the reasons mentioned above, the sensor is temporarily Inactive, but will return to the Active status soon.

In this state, no alarms, communication failure alerts, battery level alerts and calibration alerts are generated or sent.

Archived Sensor

Archiving a sensor is an irreversible action that must be performed if the sensor is no longer used. From the moment the sensor is archived, it will no longer receive any more data or generate any type of alarm or alert. However, it will not be removed from the platform and the history data can be consulted when necessary.

The settings that the sensor has at the moment it is archived, such as name, alarm limits, etc., will be saved and cannot be changed. All parameters of an archived sensor are removed from the Dashboards, Public Display and Programmed Reports.
