The maintenance module provides the automatic calculation of 6 key performance indicators: 3 regarding Corrective Maintenance and 3 regarding Preventive Maintenance. We can see these indicators in the Maintenance tab of the Dashboard and in the Maintenance Reports.
NOTE: The calculation of these 6 indicators is made taking into consideration the period selected and the filters/equipment chosen.
The meaning of each indicator and its calculation formula is presented below.
Corrective Maintenance:
Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)
The MTBF represents the average time interval between two consecutive failures. The greater the MTBF, the higher the equipment's reliability.
MTBF = (Total number of hours in operation) / (Number of failures)
Where:
- Total number of hours in operation corresponds to the selected period minus the time spent on the Preventive Maintenance tasks.
- Number of failures is the number of Work Orders that were created during the selected period.
Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)
The MTTR is a performance indicator that measures the average time required to repair or recover equipment after a failure. The lower the MTTR, the faster the equipment can be repaired and put back into operation, increasing its availability.
MTTR = (Total time to repair) / (Number of failures)
Where:
- Total time to repair is the total time spent to repair all Work Orders that occurred during a selected period.
- Number of failures is the number of Work Orders that were created during the selected period.
MTTR is an indicator used with MTBF to measure the reliability and availability of an equipment or group of equipment.
Total Corrective Maintenance Time (Total)
This indicator shows us the total time spent to perform all Work Orders of an equipment or group of equipment, for a selected period.
Preventive Maintenance:
% of time spent in preventive maintenance (PMP)
PMP (Preventive Maintenance Percentage) is an indicator that measures the total time spent on preventive maintenance tasks compared to the total time spent on all maintenance tasks (preventive + corrective). PMP is expressed in percentage.
PMP [%] = (Total number of hours spent on preventive maintenance) / (Total number of maintenance hours) x 100
Where:
- Total number of hours spent on preventive maintenance corresponds to the sum of the time spent on performing the preventive maintenance tasks (Maintenance Sheets) in the selected period.
- Total number of maintenance hours corresponds to the sum of the time spent performing preventive maintenance tasks (Maintenance Sheets) and corrective maintenance tasks (Work Orders) for the same period.
% of preventive maintenance execution (PMC)
The PMC (Preventive Maintenance Compliance) measures the percentage of preventive maintenance tasks that have been completed on schedule within a specified time period. This indicator is relevant for tracking the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program and the process's efficiency.
PMC [%] = (Number of preventive maintenance tasks completed) / (Number of preventive maintenance tasks) x 100
Where:
- Number of preventive maintenance tasks completed refers to the number of maintenance records in "Complete" status in a selected period.
- Total number of preventive maintenance tasks is the number of maintenance records that were planned to be done in the same period.
Total preventive maintenance time (Total)
This indicator gives us information about the sum of the time declared in all preventive maintenance. It is calculated by adding up the time declared in all the preventive maintenance sheets.
