After the end of a journey, the data collected by the sensor is analysed by the ViGIE system. If there is a deviation from the defined, an occurrence associated with the journey will be generated and the configured users will receive an alert regarding the occurrence. This situation occurs when the transport sensors have alarms configured.

To configure alarms for a transport sensor, go through the following steps: 

Step 1: In the main menu, on the left side, click Transport.

Step 2: Choose the Sensors option. This will open a page containing a list of the transport sensors you have access to.

Step 3: Find out the transport sensor you want to configure the alarms. For that, you can use the filters available at the top of the page or use the search bar.

Step 4: Click on the transport sensor. A side window will open, the Sensor View.

Step 5: Select the Alarms tab of the Sensor View.

Step 6: Click on the edit option (pencil).

Step 7: Define the alarm levels and allowed notification methods

In this step you must define the alarm levels you wish to enable and their respective value. 

ViGIE alarm configuration dispose of 4 different alarm levels and, when enabled, they must not overlap between each other:

    Critical low limit < Warning low limit < OK < Warning hight limit < Critical high limit

You must also define for both critical and warning limits, which notification methods will be allowed (SMS, Email, App ViGIE). This allows you to dictate different notification methods for different alarm levels (critical or warning). This configuration influences the communication method defined individually per each user.

Note that, if you set a Warning High limit you must necessarily set a Warning Low limit. The same does not happen with the Critical Limits, if you define a Critical High Limit, you don't necessarily have to define a Critical Low Limit and vice versa. 

Step 8: Define the threshold level and the users to notify.

Here is the place to define the maximum percentage of readings off the limits above which the journey will trigger an occurrence and the users to alert. In other words, for a journey where 100 readings are taken, a maximum percentage of 12% indicates that an event is generated when 12 or more readings occur outside the established limits.

To define the users to be alerted you must click on the (+) button. It'll open a specific section to define which users to alert and by which communication method.  

Step 9: Click on Save.
