Communication status on transport sensors

As opposed to static sensors, transport sensors do not generate communication failures if they cannot communicate and there is no real-time data in the ViGIE system.

There are 3 possible statuses for the communication of a transport sensor:

  • Synced: The sensor is "online", communicating with the data receiver, and the ViGIE system is being provided with real-time data.

  • Out of reach: A sensor is out of range when it is unable to communicate with the data receiver for more than 3 times the sensor's sampling time. When a sensor's communication is in this status, the sensor is "offline" and ViGIE system is not being provided with real-time data from that sensor.

  • Synchronizing: A transport sensor's communication remains in this status when the sensor is able to communicate with a receiver and starts downloading the data stored during the period it was out of reach. After synchronization, the sensor will have the communication in the Synced status.
