What are shifts for?

Created by ViGIE Customer Success, Modified on Tue, 28 Nov 2023 at 02:30 PM by ViGIE Customer Success

The Shifts module provided by ViGIE for Enterprise plans (under subscription) allows the users to define 'on call' shifts to set who is responsible to receive alerts.

The configured shifts are applicable to sensor parameter Alarms. They do not cover Communication failure, Battery or Calibration alerts and Journey occurrences.

How does it work?

The ViGIE System will follow these steps:

  1. Identifies an alarm alert (regardless of the status and level).
  2. Retrieves the users that are assigned to be notified considering the status of the alarm and their correspondent methods.
  3. Checks the Shifts module and verifies if any of those users have a shift right now:
    1. If none of the users is currently on a shift then the ViGIE system alerts all the users configured.
    2. If one or more users are currently on a shift then the ViGIE system will only alert the users currently on a shift.
